Crest
That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve: On a wreath of the colors Or and Azure the Lexington Minute Man Proper. The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the Common in Lexington, Massachusetts.

Shield
The shield is blue for Infantry and the notched fess gives the appearance of mountains - the motto of the State of Montana is "Oro y Plata" - gold and silver - the fess is accordingly made in gold and silver (white enamel); thus symbolizing the Regiment's original place of organization.
Crest
The crest is that of the United States Army Reserve.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 416th Infantry Regiment on 20 January 1926. It was redesignated for the 416th Regiment on 22 August 1960.
